How Much Does a Security Camera System Cost in New Jersey?
The short answer: three systems, three price points
Most security companies won't tell you a price until someone walks your property and hands you a quote. We do it the other way around — here are the numbers up front, so you can decide before you ever pick up the phone. NexVision Labs sells and installs Reolink and EPCOM cameras across New Jersey, and we group everything into three installed systems:
| System | Starting price (installed) | Includes | Extra camera |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2MP Analog DVR | $580 | 2 cameras | +$150 ea (up to 8) |
| 5MP IP Full Color NVR | $1,380 | 4 cameras | +$250 ea (up to 8) |
| 4K IP Ultra HD NVR | $1,980 | 4 cameras | +$350 ea (up to 16) |
The starting price and the per-camera cost are the fixed parts. Everything else — how many cameras your layout actually needs, cable runs, mounting spots — we work out with you on the call and fold into one installed number. No line-item surprises after the fact.
What "installed" actually means
When we say $580 installed, we mean the crew shows up, mounts the cameras where they'll do the most good, runs the cable, sets up the recorder, and doesn't leave until you can see the feed on your own screen. Installation isn't a separate invoice tacked on at the end. If you'd rather, we'll also install a system you already bought somewhere else — the price for that is quoted on the call, since it depends on your gear.
Which system is actually right for you
More expensive isn't automatically better for your situation. Here's the honest breakdown:
- 2MP Analog ($580): 1080p Full HD, motion detection, continuous or motion-triggered recording, and infrared night vision in black and white. No audio — it's video only. For covering entrances, hallways and parking areas, this is genuinely enough for a lot of homes and small businesses.
- 5MP IP Full Color ($1,380): 5MP Ultra HD with full color at night, 24/7 — so you recognize a face or a car instead of guessing at a gray shape. Built-in mic (listen only), smart motion detection, and remote viewing from your phone. Indoor and outdoor.
- 4K IP Ultra HD ($1,980): True 4K, two-way audio (you hear and you talk back), a built-in siren, an automatic day/night light sensor, and advanced night vision. This is the one for warehouses, offices, and anyone who wants maximum clarity and control.
If the $580 analog system is enough for what you need to cover, we'll tell you that — instead of selling you a larger system than you need.
Why we publish the price at all
Security is a trade that runs on opaque quotes and fear-selling. Publishing the number is our way of doing the opposite: you should know roughly what you're spending before you spend an afternoon on a sales visit. A camera system deters and records — it's a strong deterrent and an unbeatable record of what happened. It won't prevent everything, and anyone who promises "100% security" is selling you something we won't. What it does do is make sure that when something happens, you have the footage instead of a guess.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a security camera system cost in NJ?
Installed, systems start at $580 for 2MP analog (2 cameras), $1,380 for 5MP Full Color IP (4 cameras), and $1,980 for 4K Ultra HD (4 cameras). Extra cameras are $150, $250, or $350 each depending on the line.
Is installation included in that price?
Yes. Every price is the installed price. We mount the cameras, set up the recorder, and leave it running — installation is never billed separately.
Can I start small and add cameras later?
Yes. The recorders support more channels than you start with — up to 8 on the analog and 5MP lines, and up to 16 on the 4K line. You can begin with what you need today and add cameras later without replacing the recorder.
